So i am interested in a career in finance?

However it means having to go back to school. I will major in finance and minor in accounting. I know the job market for finance majors is weak and highly competitive, but i want to work as an analyst because i am generally interested in how the market works and also because it is a lucrative career choice. So my question is, how should i go about it? Does anyone have any experience in this field? Is it true that 12 hour days are common place? Also, how does an auditor differ in terms of work and wages? I live and would want to start my career here in New York. Thanks in advance for your response
