Is the bank account in Quickbooks or MYOB need the be EXACTLY same as the bank statement.?

What i mean by EXACTLY is when I receive $100 in bank statement, I couldn't record it into 2 sales receipts. I MUST record it in one receipts show $100 so that the auditor will not be confused. I have recently been told to do so. Can any accounting expert please tell me is this reasonable?
