Construction Auditing Books?

I am starting a job as a construction auditor's assistant. I know next to nothing beyond schedules and do not have the money as of yet for college classes. I want to start reading up now to improve my knowledge and performance while I save for college. Any suggestions on the best books to start with and work up too?
