I have itchy eyes help please!?

within the past hour my eyes have gotten unbelievably itchy and are both red rimmed :'( it's not hay fever and i've tried putting cucumbers on them and washed my eyes with water but it doesn't work. is this serious? oh and the whites of my eyes are fine so i don't have conjunctivitis or anything and i don't have a runny nose, it's just that they're itchy. :(
